Oil & Gas HSE Differently

The Oil & Gas industry is currently undergoing a rapid transformation from a slow-paced and complacent operational style to a rigorous, dynamic and more agile approach. Everywhere we see cutting corners, a mood of urgency and uncertainty and at the same time being optimistic of the future. As the industry gradually recovers from extreme turbulence, we observe that everything that adds value is to be retained, while all that does not add value (waste) wants to be eliminated.

Trust and Safety are vital ingredients for change to occur. Safety is a value of untapped potential and often undervalued as one of the greatest assets in changing organizational culture.

The ACTIVE Safety Coaching Framework

This program will introduce you to ACTIVE Safety Coaching, a framework designed specifically to generate safe operational performance. While safety training aims to transfer information intellectually, safety coaching integrates language, emotions, and body as the sources of information. There is a significant difference between someone “believing safety is important” and “being a safety leader.” By attending this program, you will be able to work with your teams and make safety part of their “way of being.”

Every day, leaders say "Safety is our no.1 priority"

…But, what’s needed is…ACTION

What is Safety Coaching?

Safety coaching is a method of learning that focuses on developing safety leaders. Fundamentally, it is a series of conversations that challenge beliefs and assumptions about work and that offer alternative perspectives. Most people believe that reality exists “out there.” The basis of coaching is the idea that reality is a way of seeing and interpreting the world. Thus, a desire to change and improve safety must come from the inside out. Primarily, human behavior comes from learning so that most behaviors can be unlearned, with new behaviors learned in their place.

Why Safety Coaching?

  • Safety coaching is different from safety training, advising, managing and consulting.
  • Safety training is a great tool to generate compliance-based behavior
  • Safety coaching is a great tool to generate commitment-based behavior

Benefits of Attending

Most of us consider ourselves rational decision-makers. However, neuroscience studies have proved that none of our choices are purely rational because they are influenced by one or more emotions. Our coaching methods consider that we all have three centers of intelligence, which are; language, emotions, and body and they act in dynamic coherence. As a safety coach, it is imperative to understand which emotions and body dispositions are driving your team’s safety behavior so that you can help them eliminate their blind spots. Developing this skill requires deep learning in all three centers of intelligence. This program will prepare you to use these three domains as sources of information for effective safety decision-making in your organization.
